Interior Renovation Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we doing the renovation in the winter?

One of the main reasons that we chose to have the renovations at this time of the year is due to the conditions and deadlines that we have to meet with regards to the two substantial grants we have received for the renovation. It is also a quieter time of year at the library and our number of visits are much lower during this time.

Is there a temporary library location?

The Library is open in the Community Centre with a small but varied collection including new titles. Computers, printing services, newspapers, magazines and paperbacks are located in the Community Centre café.

Will there be Programming?

Children's and Adult Programming will continue as normal. Family Story Time at 11:00am on Tuesdays and Babies & Books at 10:30am on Wednesdays. Other events can be found in our seasonal brochures.

When will Interlibrary loans be available?

Yes, interlibrary loans are available.

Can I place holds during the renovation?

Yes, we will have holds. If holds are placed on items that we have put in storage we will contact the patron and try to make alternative arrangements.

Will the drop box be available for returns?

Yes. The drop box will be available 24/7.

Will Technology Tutouring appointments be available?

Will we have access to other libraries during the renovation?

Yes. NOTL Patrons will be able to use the Niagara Falls Public Library from December 1st. Click here for more information

St. Catharines Public Library Borrowing

NOTL residents can get a non-resident membership for $35. to cover the period up to March 31st, 2017.

If you would like a membership card you will need to bring 2 pieces of identification one of which must include a current address. Valid identification includes: passport, birth certificate, driver's license, health card, Social Insurance card, credit card, student card, and a bill or other piece of formal correspondence that can validate the address.

Payment can be made with cash, cheque or debit.

Will the St. Davids Library Lockers be available?

Yes, the St. Davids Smart Lockers are available for use.

Will Home Bound services be available?

Yes, Home Bound service is available throughout the renovation.
